My passion for emergency services began in second grade. One day, I came home from school and found my neighbor trapped beneath a large wooden cable spool. I knew something was wrong, but I wasn't sure what to do beyond calling 911. As I watched the firefighters and EMS professionals respond, I realized that one day I wanted to be the person who shows up when someone is having the worst day of their life.
That experience set me on a path that has now spanned more than 26 years as a Firefighter/EMT and nearly three decades as an instructor. Since 1997, I have taught CPR, First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), Emergency Medical Response (EMR), and Lifeguarding programs to thousands of students from all walks of life.
As a U.S. Air Force Veteran and career emergency responder, I bring real-world experience into every class I teach. The skills taught in CPR and First Aid courses are not just textbook concepts to me—they are techniques I have used throughout my career while responding to emergencies in the field.
