Be Thankful for Your Family: Holiday Safety Tips

Be Prepared for Minor Injuries: Cuts, Scrapes & Burns

In a kitchen crowded with rowdy kids or adults, safety should always be your top priority. That means being well-prepared for minor injuries, including cuts, scrapes and burns.

Have a first aid kit on hand. Ensure that you have adhesive bandages in a variety of sizes, tape, gauze, latex gloves, antiseptic wipes, hydrogen peroxide, antibiotic cream and hydrocortisone cream on hand.

Ensure you have ibuprofen, acetaminophen, antihistamines, as well as a thermometer in your first aid kit. For those unexpected bumps and bruises, keep ice packs in the freezer or the instant version on hand.

Take a First Aid, CPR/AED Course

Heart attacks can strike anyone at any time - at home, at work, at play - and the victim may be someone close to you. (74 percent of cardiac arrests occur in the home.)  A victim's chance of survival decreases by 10 percent for every minute that CPR is delayed. The chances of the victim surviving can be doubled or even tripled if CPR is performed immediately.

How will you handle a multi-generational houseful of family during the days before or after the holidays? Start 2024 off by taking a First Aid CPR AED course.

Buckeye CPR Training has two different training methods, blended learning and classroom training. Both are geared toward anyone with little or no medical training who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
